Replacement Boiler System
Hotel & Spa, New Forest
Background:
This luxury Hotel and Spa is located in the New Forest.
Industrial Heaters were asked to carry out a site survey and provide a quotation to replace two atmospheric boilers and a pair of steel calorifiers, which provided heat and hot water to the Spa and a number of rooms. The boilers and calorifiers were leaking badly and a new higher efficiency solution was required.
It was imperative that downtime was kept to an absolute minimum as loss of Spa and room bookings would be very costly.
Solution:
A pair of Ideal Evomax 100kW condensing boilers were installed along with two high recovery stainless steel calorifiers. The boilers were isolated from the existing system by using a plate heat exchanger to ensure long life and high efficiency. A dedicated pump was installed for each of the four circuits (hot water, Spa, rooms and filter). The filter circuit comprises of a commercial magnetic filter assembly, with a fine non-metallic particulate filter and monitor to advise when cleaning is required. Control is provided by a sophisticated BMS system.
Result:
The modulating output from the condensing boilers combined with high efficiency calorifiers and superior controls have reduced energy consumption considerably. The filtration system provides continuous improvement to the water quality in the existing circuits, improving heat transfer and extending the life of radiators, pool heat exchangers and fan coils etc.
The BMS system with its internet based interface is allowing remote monitoring and adjustment of control parameters by personnel with appropriate login details.
